Qualcomm, a company that develops advanced wireless technologies, has announced a £300,000 donation to the University of Oxford. The money will be used to establish four scholarships to allow biomedical engineering (BME) graduates to progress to doctoral studies. The scholarships will provide support for the students' entire doctoral programmes and will be awarded to the two most highly ranked students on the BME MSc programme by an academic committee of the university. The first two scholarships will be awarded in June 2009.
