A 95-year-old Iraqi exile, who sought asylum in Britain, is set to offer £90,000 worth of new scholarships to students studying science degrees at the University of Sheffield. Nearly 100 students at the university will receive bursaries worth £1,000 each, thanks to the generosity of property developer Naim Dangoor. The funding forms part of a total donation of £3 million by Dr Dangoor to pay for scholarships at some Russell Group and 1994 Group universities.
