Sir George Cox, former chairman of the UK Design Council, has opened a £12 million development to support the "digital revolution" transforming the economy of the North East. The high-tech Phoenix Building, nerve centre of the University of Teesside's DigitalCity, will house the Institute of Digital Innovation.
