Northern Ireland's Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness, has praised the "outstanding success" of an eight-year-old outreach programme that opens up university life to teenagers who may never have considered it. Mr McGuinness spoke at the "graduation" ceremony for 66 pupils from five schools in the city of Derry who successfully completed the two-year science-based Step-Up Programme run by the University of Ulster.
