A new research centre at the University of Wolverhampton is to study the most aggressive brain cancers. The Brain Tumour UK Neuro-Oncology Research Centre is combining two teams of experts to identify genes that trigger the most severe childhood and adult brain tumours and develop new forms of chemotherapy to treat them. The charity is launching a £500,000 fundraising drive for the first phase of the laboratory's work and hopes to raise a further £1 million to accelerate the search for new treatments.
