The newly opened University of Armageddon (THES, October 10) has already lived up to its mission statement to draw attention to the scope for howlers and errors in academic management. In that spirit, its website was jammed solid on the day of launch, according to Armageddon vice chancellor John Wakeford, whose day job is to run the Missenden Centre for the Development of Higher Education. In addition, the university's roll-call of honorary degrees is sparse to the point of complete blankness. Suggestions - anyone from Sir Ron Dearing to the former heads of Portsmouth or Glasgow Caledonian - are welcome at the site.
