Competition is hotting up in the small world of creative writing courses. No sooner had Brunel University bagged acclaimed author Fay Weldon and no small amount of publicity for its course, than City University has retaliated. The Christopher Little Literary Agency, which is responsible for J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter books, has launched a £1,500 award to seek out fresh and original talent - for students on City's creative writing course only.
