The Chinese government has declared protests by students who attacked the US and British embassies in Beijing a justified and legal reaction to Nato action in the Balkans. Windows were smashed and cars were destroyed in protests at the destruction of China's embassy in Belgrade and the death of three officials. Students also demonstrated in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
