Sheffield Hallam University did not take part in the Quality Assurance Agency's pilot scheme in which students observed QAA institutional audits of higher education institutions ("Watchdog adds students to audit teams to asses university quality", 24 July).
What I was reporting on to the QAA's conference in Warwick was Sheffield Hallam's experience of involving students in internal review processes. Our experience echoes that of the QAA pilot in illustrating that, with proper training and support, students can be very effective members of quality review panels.
