I teach Mark Lilla's The Reckless Mind, the book that Paul Cartledge prefers to my own (The Intellectual) (Books, November 4).
Students study it as part of a course called "The feckless mind".
Notwithstanding Cartledge's misgivings, I'll take reckless over feckless any day.
