David Cesarani writes eloquently of the significance of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz ("A nation tenderly traces the scars that never fade", February 11). Remembering Hitler's crimes and the bravery of those who confronted Nazism provides an opportunity to learn from the past. The testimonies of those who survived the atrocities teach future generations that this must never be allowed to happen again.
