I read your front-page article, which suggested that Bradford University was considering charging top-up fees of less than £3,000, with disbelief ("Pair may undercut pack with £2,000 fee", December 3).
I am deeply concerned that such an assumption was made by you without evidence from the university to support the claim. The assertion in the headline received no attention in the body of the article, other than at the end on page 4, when it was observed: "The university (Bradford) would not comment on the low-fee option."
The blatant lack of information available to your reporter was painfully evident throughout the article, and this statement could seriously mislead students.
With no prior knowledge of any decision due to be made by this university, the decision by The Times Higher to print this article was, at best, poor judgement and, at worst, irresponsible journalism.
