Make way for arts

If "'the creative industries' are universally regarded as the future of the British economy" ("Grants for the few", July 30), why does an article in the same issue on how other countries fund research ("Cough up cash") concentrate on science only? Can we expect a follow-up article on how much other countries value arts and humanities research?
