Over half of the public would like to see more state funding for schools and universities, even if it means higher taxes. The study by the Economic and Social Research Council reveals widespread concern over government cuts in funding for education, housing, and health care.
Parents who educate their children privately voiced almost almost equal support for increased public funding as parents with children in the state system.
