Members of the Association of University Teachers and the National Union of Students ("Strike is likely as AUT vote closes", February 13) will be standing shoulder to shoulder in the traditional solidaristic stance this coming week.
However, has no one noticed the inconsistency in this show of harmony - with lecturers seeking higher pay at the same time as students seek to reverse the implementation of variable tuition fees that would come with the higher education bill's passage?
