We all deserve more

I back Natfhe in its campaign for better maternity pay and leave. But the article "Academe Asda do better for mums" ( THES , April 18) suggests that the problem is that Asda staff, most of whom are low paid, get better benefits than lecturers in new universities. All workers should have decent maternity leave. Congratulations to Asda staff for negotiating 29 weeks on full pay.
