The Humanities Division at the University of Oxford is to be reviewed for the first time since it was set up in 2000. A five-year strategic plan published by the division identifies financing as the "single greatest challenge to humanities at Oxford". It confirms that it will seek to "consolidate its position" on hiring new staff, with further recruitment being put off until 2011. The division is also proposing to charge fourth- year DPhil students tuition and college fees for the first time, The Oxford Student paper reported.
