Pet philosopher

If Neil Tennant, one half of lyrical pop duo Pet Shop Boys, is to have an academic namesake, it seems appropriate that he should be a staff member of the department of philosophy - albeit at Ohio State University. Incidentally, the American Tennant wrote to the TLS earlier this year bemoaning the "alarmingly patchy" collection of philosophy journals at the Australian National University library. But among the striking omissions, he found that the library subscribed to Hustler. "It's a Sin" surely? At least ANU philosophy scholars can never be accused of "Being Boring".
