Former faux pas

Yet another consultancy joins the higher education circuit with the formation of NMC and KAY Academic, an offshoot of existing consultants NMC and KAY. No doubt they have plenty of expertise. But was it wise to run a cartoon captioned "Getting the has-beens off the merry-go-round" in the newsletter announcing the formation of the new group, which boasts the participation of Sir Mark Richmond and the newly elevated Sir David Harrison, both of whose admittedly impressive lists of credentials is heavily studded with the word "former"?
