Education minister Robin Squire promised to "identify obstacles and smooth the Private Finance Initiative process" at the PFI in Universities and Colleges conference run by the higher and further education funding councils this week. He said that his department, the Treasury, Private Finance Panel Executive and the funding councils will be looking at PFI in the next few months.
