(Photograph) - Audio visual: The wonders of modern biomedical science will be brought to life this week in a new display at the Wellcome Centre for Medical Science in London. Containing eye-opening images of everything from earliest cell division to skeleton structure, the images have been produced using a range of microscopic techniques. In the display is this image of the inside of a guinea pig's inner ear showing the cochlea and rows of sensory cells which respond to different frequencies of sound. The whole organ is a few millimetres long.
