Your article "Lecturers protest at 2,000 job cuts" ( THES , April 6), was misleading in so far as it related to the University of Luton.
- Luton is aiming to cut fewer than 60 jobs and not the 100 as stated.
- The staff as a whole and not just lecturers were invited by our Natfhe and Unison union branches to support the motion of no confidence in the executive over the proposed redundancies. This meant that the 369 "for" to 50 "against" you quote needs to be compared with the 1,500 or so eligible to vote.
