Have THES readers seen the booklet Financial Support for Higher Education Students produced by the Department for Education and Employment? At 75 multi-coloured pages, it will still leave students mystified about their financial entitlements. There can be no better evidence of why we need new support arrangements if we are to encourage more candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds into higher education.
