WOMEN are outperforming men in securing higher education places, gaining first and upper second class degrees, finding jobs soon after graduating, and completing initial teacher training courses, new figures show. But men still outnumber women among full-time academic staff and in holding senior academic posts, according to a report on the data, Separate Tables, published by the Department for Education and Employment.
