Jamie Targett, the director of corporate affairs at the University of Poppleton, is, of course, right that David Willetts would not feel at home in the staff annex to its refectory (The Poppletonian, 16 May). But it comes as a shock, although nevertheless a refreshing surprise, that there is enough socialist influence at that thoroughly dysfunctional business-leaning institution for said refectory to be named after Hugo Chávez.
