THE article "Adelphi chief packs his bags" wrongly places Adelphi University in Garden City, New Jersey (THES, March 7).
Perhaps the author was thinking of New Jersey's nickname "The Garden State".
Adelphi is indeed in Garden City, but Garden City is on Long Island in the state of New York.
It was no doubt the arduous commute from Long Island to the island of Manhattan (the heart of New York City) that led Adelphi's ex-president Peter Diamandopoulos to think he needed a Manhattan apartment.
