BBSRC reveals global warming findings

THE BIOTECHNOLOGY and Biological Sciences Research Council this week revealed the results of a four-year Pounds 8 million investigation into the effects of global warming and increased levels of carbon dioxide on plants and animals. One project under the council's Biological Adaptation to Global Environment Change programme looked at the impact of these environmental changes on crop root systems. Its findings could have important long-term implications for crop management.
