Sir Patrick Stewart, known for his many acclaimed roles on stage and screen - including Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men film series - speaks to Times Higher Education reporter Chris Parr about his real life position as chancellor of the University of Huddersfield.
In the interview, Sir Patrick discusses how higher education is perceived in the acting community; how his own decision not to go to university left him feeling intimidated by those who had; and his decision, after many years living in Hollywood, to become closely involved with the university sector through his role at Huddersfield - the university situated closest to the village in which he grew up.
