Student unions in Northern Ireland have told United Nations that the UK has breached a UN agreement when it barred students from social security benefits in 1990. The UN's committee on economic, social and cultural rights is investigating the UK's civil rights record. The National Union of Students/Union of Students in Ireland hopes it will press the Government to review the decision.
