Sports scientists at Liverpool John Moores University are close to perfecting an innovative computer program that could greatly improve coaching techniques by analysing the performance of footballers and their teams.
The program allows for the detailed analysis of matches by giving a breakdown of passes, headers, volleys and any number of footballing moves. These records can then be called up for any player or aggregated to give an overview of team performance.
