Advisory group aims to overhaul adult learning

The GOVERNMENT's Advisory Group for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning met for the first time last week. The group, which is chaired by Bob Fryer, principal of Northern College, will be "looking at how to achieve a culture change for adult learning", education minister Tessa Blackstone said.

Vice chair is Alan Tuckett, director of NIACE, and the team will include former THES editor Peter Scott, pro-vice chancellor of Leeds University who takes over as vice chancellor at Kingston University in September, Dan Fin, of the University of Portsmouth, Hywel Francis, of the University of Wales, Swansea, and Tom Schuller of the University of Edinburgh.
