The Higher Education Statistic's Agency's findings for 1995/967 reveal that:

* 77 per cent of UK full-time first degree entrants had A levels or equivalent as their highest academic qualifications * 17.9 per cent of UK part-time first degree entrants had A levels or equivalent as their highest academic qualifications * 2.2 per cent of UK first degree entrants (full and part-time) had no formal qualifications on entering HE
