Howells wants UN backing for adult learning

LIFELONG learning minister Kim Howells has called on the United Nations to back his plan for an "International Week of Adult Learning". Speaking at Unesco's fifth international conference on adult education, he proposed an international literacy day as part of his plans to "promote adult learning all over the world".
