The university can trace its roots back to as early as 1846. Formerly it was known as the Leeds College of Art until it was granted a university status in 2017.

The university has been a centre of learning in creative arts and has produced a large number of notable alumni. They include England’s leading artists, sculptors, painters to tutors at Royal Academy of Arts and Turner Prize winners such as Norman Ackroyd, Damien Hirst and Alison Britton.

The University Library is a key piece of collection infrastructure for researchers and students. The Collection Access and Discovery functional area of the Library manages acquisitions, access, systems, metadata and digital scholarship. Digital Scholarship services include digitisation of ANU collections, management of the institutional repository Open Research and Data Repository Data Commons, and geographic information system (GIS) services and support. CartoGIS Services is responsible for providing high level advice, guidance and support in the design, development, production and implementation of cartographic and geographic information systems (GIS) research practices across the University for research, education and outreach purposes. CartoGIS Services aims to raise awareness of the application of GIS through the development of a community of scholars in which geospatial analysis and visualisation are used to inform trans-disciplinary research and education.   The GIS Specialist will promote the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology in ANU research by delivering a suite of GIS training modules and working with the Asia Pacific Map Collection. About Us The King’s Health Partners Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) is one of 29 centres across the UK and specialises in new molecular and cellular cancer immunotherapies. The KHP ECMC has been awarded funding for a further 5-years to expand their trials portfolio, including agents discovered and developed by King’s College London researchers. With an extensive portfolio of early phase and translational clinical trials, there is an increasing requirement for tissue sampling and complex sample preparation. The post is based within KHP Cancer Biobank, part of the School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences. About The Role The successful candidate will support the ongoing expansion of trial-related sample handling and processing. This work requires effective monitoring, collection, and processing of patient samples in accordance with defined protocols. The postholder will have a broad knowledge and experience of sample handling. The translational lab can be supporting 20 or more trials at any one time and the postholder will be responsible for delivering a reliable and accurate service. This requires good organisational and planning skills. The postholder may be required to communicate complex information clearly and concisely with the clinical trial team members. Alongside clinical trial activities, the successful candidate will provide support to the Cancer Biobank. This will primarily involve processing biological fluids, which may include periods of intense activity. Both clinical trial and biobank activities are undertaken within a tightly regulated environment. The postholder will be required to actively participate in the quality management system. However, evolution of systems is encouraged to improve efficiency and sustainability. Whilst sample collection should be scheduled in advance, a flexible approach is required as these may be at locations other than Guy’s Hospital and are dependent upon other Trust service providers. Hence, sample collection and processing may occur outside of core hours. The post holder will be responsible to the Specialist Chief Technician and accountable to KCL Head of Biobanking. This is a full time (35 hours per week) post and will be offered on a fixed term contract until 31/03/2027. This post is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service and Occupational Health clearances. About You To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria Minimum level 3 qualification, e.g. A levels, AS levels, International Baccalaureate diploma or other Level 3 qualification, plus work experience in relevant technical/scientific posts OR Considerable knowledge and skills gained through work experience in relevant technical or scientific posts.  Evidence of an active commitment to career development including professional registration, such as RSciTech or RSci and clear progression in increasingly demanding jobs.  Knowledge and practical use of a range of technical skills and their environmental impact.  Ability to apply learnt techniques to the work context. Position Details Fixed Term until June 2026 | Part- Time 0.6 FTE Research (Academic) Level B | $113,211 - $133,974 p.a. pro rata Location: Tonsley / Kaurna Country View Position Description About the Role The Research Fellow will actively contribute to the work of ARIIA by supporting the delivery of the Knowledge and Implementation Hub (KIH) and related research, evaluation and dissemination activities. The incumbent will assist with preparing high-quality documentation, coordinating tasks, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved. The role will undertake critical appraisal and synthesis of academic and grey literature, as well as practice-based resources, and translate findings into accessible summaries, reports, publications and other dissemination outputs. A key aspect of the role involves building and maintaining networks with academic experts, community organisations, consumers and aged care industry representatives to co-produce evidence-based resources. Working closely with the KIH team, the Research Fellow will help develop online content, including web pages, interactive tools and learning modules.
