THE first meeting of European education and social affairs ministers will be hosted early next year by David Blunkett, secretary of state for education and employment, it was announced this week. At the top of the agenda will be how the European Union can help member states boost employability, Mr Blunkett said. The meeting, in London on March 13-14, will be one of a series during the UK's presidency of the EU from January to June next year.
