Naturally, a goodly proportion of the 28 peers who spent four hours discussing the future of Oxbridge college fees last week had been to Oxford or Cambridge. But three had been to the same school. Lord Beloff, Lord Baker of Dorking and Lord Winston all attended St Paul's School, London - although not all at the same time, they were quick to point out.
