STAFF at the University of Bristol are to ballot for a strike over up to eight threatened redundancies. Leaders of the local branch of Association of University Teachers agreed last week to seek members' support for a series of one-day strikes in the new year. They are also planning a campaign of "grey-listing" the university, making clear to organisations that staff are unhappy with the way it is run. The dispute is over threats to lose five academic and two academic-related staff in the school for policy studies and a further academic-related job in drama.
