GLASGOW University and St Andrew's College, Scotland's only Roman Catholic teacher education college, are proposing to merge next summer. The college would merge with Glasgow's departments of education and adult and continuing education, along with the university's centres for science and technical education and teaching and learning service. The Scottish colleges of education have come under financial pressure since their intakes are fixed by the state.
