The Arts Council has also awarded Pounds 89,800 to Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education for the funding of three artists in residence. The first, yet to be appointed, will be based at Gloucester Cathedral, creating works that reflect on the cathedral's place in the community. "We are looking for a professional artist who is at the cutting edge of contemporary art, has a spiritual awareness and can work with the local community and college students and staff," said Francis Corner, Gloucester's head of art.
