Universities will aid development, says Prescott

UNIVERSITIES have been singled out by the deputy prime minister, John Prescott, as important players in the proposed new Regional Development Agencies. Answering questions at the House of Lords science and technology committee, Mr Prescott said universities could do much more for regional planning. He said that universities could also contribute more to the community.
