THE government has set up a Further Education Student Support Advisory Group, due to report by the end of March 1998, to look at how to improve financial support. Members are: chairman Graham Lane (Local Government Association education chairman); John Brennan (director of further education development for the Association of Colleges);
Sue Cara (associate director, programmes and policy for NIACE); Geoff Hall (director of funding and strategy for the FEFC); Lynne How (principal of Redcar and Cleveland College); Jeff Jones (education spokesman Welsh LGA); Peter Lawrence (Bucks County Council); Anne Sims (research officer, student financial support, NUS); Nigel Trim (administrative assistant, City of Manchester Council); Annette Zera (principal, Tower Hamlets College); Beverley Evans (divisional manager, 16-19 student support, Department for Education and Employment); Nick Tooze (team leader, individual learning division, DFEE).
