Southampton football premier league striker Egil Ostenstad may have a score to settle with Southampton University vice chancellor Howard Newby. Arriving on campus to open a students' jobshop, he was told by Newby he was second choice for the job. Derby County season ticket holder Newby said he would have preferred Derby striker Francesco Baiano, who helped Derby to a 2-0 win against Southampton. "The trouble was, everyone else in Southampton was after him," Newby confessed to Ostenstad.
