The University of Teesside has won Pounds 2 million to help transferits expertise in virtual reality to small and medium firms.
Backed by the European Regional Development Fund, thefunding will create 16 new posts. Projects include exploring how people interact with consumer products like washing machines and microwaves. A VR "motion capture" system to measure and improve the performance of the region's athletes is also planned.
