Broad Left revival

A BROAD left-wing alliance of students will challenge Labour Students' leadership of the National Union of Students at its annual conference in late March.

Carolyne Culver, a member of the NUS national executive, will represent the Student Broad Left in elections for president at the Blackpool conference. She says "a broad-based and non-sectarian alternative" is needed in NUS so that students who support grants and oppose tuition fees can work together.
