Peter Jones Memorial Trophy

The trophy, for distinguished service to the fish farming industry, has been awarded to Niall Bromage, professor of reproductive physiology and endocrinology and assistant director for research in the University of Stirling's institute of aquaculture. He is also technical adviser for the British Trout Association.

James Tait Memorial Prizes

The prize for fiction has been awarded to Andrew Miller for his portrayal of Europe during the Enlightenment in Ingenious Pain.

The biography prize was awarded to Roy Foster for W.B. Yeats. A Life (Volume 1: The Apprentice Mage 1865-1914).
