SCIENCE minister John Battle has announced awards totalling Pounds 116,000 for 16 proposals in the first round of a research funding aimed at supporting collaboration between Indian and British researchers.
British collaborators include the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute in Aberdeen, John Innes Centre in Norwich and the department of food sciences at South Bank University. Mr Battle also made a second call for proposals under an initiative covering agro-food and biotechnology, information technology and telecommunications and advanced manufacturing technologies.
