The Quality Assurance Agency has finally found a new headquarters.

After months of hunting around the environs of Longdon, Gloucestershire home of QAA chief executive John Randall, the agency has plumped for a former Bank of England building a commutable ten miles away in Gloucester. The decision meant turning down an offer from the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service in Cheltenham to sell some of its car park land for development - surely a convenient prospect for Land Rover Discovery-driving Mr Randall. But perhaps the reason for its site selection is that the QAA hopes to stumble across some lost vault in the Gloucester building, stuffed with cash to help pay for the sizeable costs of the move.
