Not everyone loves the North Report on the future of Oxford, but there can be little doubt that its proposal for more openness about college finances is welcome. Staff of Corpus Christi, a contributor to the central pot used to keep less prosperous colleges, found that their tutorial fellows are paid far less in housing allowances than people at Keble - a poorer college that takes from the pot. Valentine Cunningham of Corpus says: "There are plenty of cases of poor colleges which behave like rich ones - you can only find out the anomalies by chance."
