The AUT's general secretary, David Triesman, was clearly prepared to help his Scottish colleagues navigate their way through the procedural intricacies of the AUT Scottish council at Aberdeen University. He was sporting a rediscovered school badge, emblazoned "Orienteering". Fortunately, such was the unanimity in the face of motion after motion castigating government policies that Mr Triesman did not need to put on his back-up badge, emblazoned "Boxing".
