As Edinburgh's tenth international science festival gets under way tomorrow, Napier University is highlighting a debate on developments in biotechnology, between Kenneth Boyd of Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Ian Wilmut, creator of Dolly the sheep.

Edinburgh University, meanwhile, is mounting a challenge to Blue Peter, seeking participants to design and make an egg carton using only two sheets of A4 paper and two paper clips. And its SCI-FUN team from the faculty of science and engineering is set to reveal during a session on the electron why the Teletubbies will not go to the North Pole.
